This Champagne coloured timepiece is powered by the Spring Drive movement, uniquely pioneered by Seiko Watch Corporation’s watchmakers. Spring Drive generates energy like a conventional mechanical watch with a mainspring but combines this with an electronic regulator to deliver superior precision, never requiring a battery change. Spring Drive is only available in Seiko Watch corporation timepieces. The second hand moves in perfect glide motion, reflecting the natural and continuous flow of time itself.

Shinshu, the region where all Grand Seiko Spring Drive watches are created, was once a major center of silk production. This classic design has a dial whose silken sunray pattern pays tribute to this heritage.

The fine grain of the pattern radiates outwards and catches the light at every angle. It has a soft texture, as if it were the finest silk, which can only be created by the application of soft silver, using a special method of silver plating. The power reserve is 72 hours when fully wound and is shown on the discreet indicator next to the eight o’clock index.
