There are just 550 pieces of this limited-edition design available globally, created to mark the anniversary of the ‘Grand Seiko Style;’ the embodiment of the Grand Seiko design philosophy first established with the 44GS model in 1967. The 44GS created a visually recognisable grammar of design for Grand Seiko watches to follow – balancing legibility and light with a beautiful dial layout.

The textured dial of this timepiece is inspired by the elliptical orbit of stars symbolising the passage of time in the sky. ‘The Nature of Time’ theme features prominently in Grand Seiko watch designs – a Japanese spirituality where each moment is a unique expression unveiled through light and shadow. The watchmakers’ pride in their surroundings is represented from engineering watch movements which emulate the smooth motion of time passing, to creating dials reflecting the beauty of Japanese nature.

The case, crown and bracelet are all made from brand’s exclusive ‘Ever-Brilliant Steel’ – with its brilliant white hue, this grade of steel is more corrosion resistant than that which is used in most high-end watches today.**

This timepiece is powered by the brand’s iconic Spring Drive movement, one of the most significant developments in recent watchmaking which took 28 years to develop. With a superior level of precision, Spring Drive generates energy with a mainspring combined with an electronic regulator, never requiring a battery change. The signature of Spring Drive is the smooth motion of its second hand. The hand moves in a silent and beautiful glide motion, rather than the one second tick of a quartz watch or the rapid beat of a mechanical watch.
